Travelling to India for medical treatment is straightforward once you understand the visa process. India offers a dedicated Medical Visa (e-MedVisa) that allows patients and two attendants to enter the country for treatment purposes.
Step 1: Obtain a Hospital Invitation Letter
Your first step is to get a formal invitation letter from an Indian hospital stating your planned treatment. VIVIDA Medtour obtains this letter from our partner hospital on your behalf as part of our free coordination service.
Step 2: Apply Online
Visit the official Indian e-Visa portal (indianvisaonline.gov.in) and select Medical Visa. Complete the application form with your personal details, travel information, and upload supporting documents.
Step 3: Documents Required
- Valid passport (6+ months validity)
- Hospital invitation letter
- Medical reports / diagnosis documents
- Recent passport photograph
- Proof of financial means
- Return flight itinerary (if available)
